the football players joy

Last night I had a chance to speak with a group of students in the football team and they were positive about using the football pitch, and that there is no more bumps on it to dely the preparation.

Preparation to GateWay 2007 in Picture

Our third week of the training session is just about over, so much energy and so much excitement at the beginning of this gateway games.
The coaches did a fantastic job organizing all the training and there are still activities planned through next weekend. I have had many positive comments about the new student involvement and the excitement that our new students seem to have about being a part of the sport team. Speaking of new students. our numbers at this time indicate a slight drop in what we suppose to be a full house, I had just these students in the picture above to train with Well their attitude to training is positive, this is very good news to ant coach, given that we are putting in place many new processes and activities to recruit new students into the sport activities for next semester.

How not to Dunk a Cake at School

the basket ball coach meet the tallest man in the picture above...please dont dunk my Cake

I worked closely with the sport coaches who held this post as their main job and I am involved in developing several new initiatives in the sport
A competitive sport such as basketball demands utmost exertion, That is why I choose Steven Okoye as the captain of the team, being in charge of the students as they train, the conditioning program allow them to play all out against each other, every minute of every game though with limited facilities the practices are intense, focused to develop the skills and teamwork necessary to play the game.
Playing hard with them is a must, because they have to be prepared at all time against other opponents, it is important that I bully them into shape so that intensity awareness of the game will be the hallmark of the team. Therefore, playing hard is the first guiding principle of my philosophy as a basket ball coach.
The students says I am too hard, that I bully them, but what they don’t understand is that if they believe in the necessity of playing the game at a higher level, they ought to be sharp as well as arrogant with the ball, yet with composure.
I guess it is because we have not had the chance for a friendly, but once we start with our neighboring university then I guess they will learn that opponents do not like to be pressured and trapped constantly throughout a game, and may sometimes retaliate in an attempt to disrupt the concentration of the offensive team. When this happens, they should maintain focus on the game and continue to play with poise. Therefore they can strive to become a team that plays without fear of any opponent.
I play them one-one mostly so that each individual should grow in confidence and have a feeling of self-worth as a result of their experience playing basketball against a coach that physical. Also I play with each team because I believe that creating team spirit requires unselfishness more so that each player on my team has been blessed with exceptional athletic gifts, I see it a worthwhile sacrifice to blend these individual talents into a harmonious team.
As a creative writer and poet I try to inspire in them a positive attitude in life, by speaking openly in the groups, here we feel the team spirit that comes from knowing your contribution matters, therefore each one expect every player, including the coach—not just the top five or seven—to play an important role in supporting the other. I am tempted to give the top players the most minutes in the game, but lately some of them are too stubborn and getting individualized
Never forget basketball is a beautiful game, and that it ought to be fun, I myself state playing for the love of the sport and that love should never be taken away. Boma has told me that the game is her life, too, so does damileade, and I hope to crop up more talent who will love the passion
The physical nature of my game is conditioned by my years in the university(LASU) were I trained in JUDO and martial art, the physical nature of training help build confidence by playing an instinctive, aggressive style of offence and defense
the female team, it is not always that players are substituted for mistakes or foul trouble because they have yet to get the main rule of the game, with the exception of few. In this way I foster in every player a true sense of joy and encourage more female students into the team, there is a true sense of worth in playing the beautiful game of basketball; I just hope I can make them see itI thank God daily for the opportunity I get to work with such wonderful people with great basketball knowledge, and I ask HIM to give me the courage and harmony to share the experience here at Bells University. I’m learning so much every day associating with the students. “I have such a passion and such a love and respect for the game and these young players

UNIVERSITY: Why integrate planning with implementation.

UNIVERSITY: Why integrate planning with implementation.

My name is Omosun Sylvester; I am a writer, poet and a Technical Planning Officer of Bells University of Technology Ota. Apart from my official duties, I research and teach creative writing in my own spare time to students and staff, mostly centered on Conflict Resolution at the National Level, and I am the Founder and President of “tribalpoetry” (words can be found at http:/omosun.wordpress.com) The International Forum for the Literature and Culture of Peace.
An ancient description of University is “School of Universal Learning.” This description implies the assemblage of strangers from all parts in one spot; it is a place for the communication and circulation of thought, by means of personal intercourse, through a wide extent of country.
How can a poet fit into the technical dept of a technological establishment? How can poetry and literature creativity advance a University of Technology, and help to create peace culture world wide? These are some of the answers I hope to give in this article
On October 9th 2005, at the University community, I introduced myself as the Administrative officer 11, stated in my employment letter, to the Vice-Chancellor General office, my designations were; Publicity and information, and hence commenced my first employment status as a staff in one of the most interesting University owned by one of Africa greatest illustrious son.
A year later, on October 9th 2006, I arrived at the campus at about 8.30 a.m., much as I had done for the past one year. I entered the Administrative building, but the difference was that I walked to the office of the Director of Physical planning and works introduced myself as the new Planning Officer and sat down in one swivel chair. Thus begin my first moment in a new office, as the Planning Officer, of Bells university of Technology .
Yet the questions, why was I reassigned within an academic year? Why is it that I will now plan strategically the affairs put into my hands in accordance with the policies of the University and the board but I will not ‘administrate.’ In the precise sense of the word- Work it, why?

This write-up in a way seeks to find and share the answers, through my experience as a Planning Officer, staff of the Nations’ first private University of Technology, to justify the need by Professor Julius Okojie; the erstwhile Vice- Chancellor and now the Executive Secretary of The National University Commission, for the formation of a creatively conceived Planning Unit within the University System, as a new strategic framework of intervention for addressing the need to integrate planning with implementation and also to affirm that...

“Reassignments are steps toward a more effective system of managing resources and planning change.’
Casteen
The reason I was admitted into the administrative officer cadre at first employment, is to ingrain in me the experience to perform the function in which the university education I have acquired has prepared me, my experience a s creative writer was tested in lieu with the administrative protocol
For a university to be truly great and perform the function noted in its definition, its community should be inspired by a larger vision, whose experience should prepare staff and students to go beyond personal interest for the advancement of the common good in the country in which the establishment emanated, that is part of my growth
One of the best strategies used by National University Commission(NUC)today in achieving the motto defining University, is researching into the ‘intellectual market”, it help in the initiative geared to the future a blueprints in strategic planning, such as luring top talent/companies/universities etc to participate in the University Community
I believe that I am a staff in such a University known as school of universal learning, because a vision for Bells University is seen in its involvement in strategy that supports its mission of learning both financially and philosophically
Today if we examine the growth rate of the most successful institution in the world, we will see that there is always the formulation of a Creatively Conceived Strategic Planning Unit that helped them; units that can identify the constraints limiting the ability of the Universities staff and student and seek ways for remediation

My work for instance, like those of the Officers in the Planning Units in other Universities has huge implications for the welfare of people from all walks of life, here in this community and elsewhere. He is able to fill his days with challenging, important, and fulfilling work that really makes a difference to those around him. So it is important that the formulation of a creatively conceived Planning Unit within the University System is a must, as a new strategic framework of intervention for addressing the need to integrate planning with implementation.

In Nigeria the problems of lack of resources in planning are well documented and have been supported by increasing workloads and the diversion of staff and funding into work with little added value, this lead to a point where Planning proposal becomes synonymous with uncertainty and re-evaluation of process detracts from the final product

The initiative by the NUC to successfully address the problems of deteriorating quality in Nigerian Universities and critical developmental need can not be overemphasized,

Why was I reassigned as a planning officer?

If the Planning Officer embraces the creative means of communicating technology or any idea inherent in his establishment while working in any planning unit, the African public will have a better understanding of the importance of science and technology and learn to make many of the important decisions in their lives that the planning officer has put in place. Being a creative writer has given me the added advantage with such skills

Many of the documents now required to support planning applications are similarly of extreme length and yet have strong impact on the decision making process, when handled by a creative writer who also has a master degree in Urban Planning, the Planning documents should be proportionate to their purpose and the value they added, these can act as a pathway to effective community engagement

So the ability to communicate scientific concepts to the public is an important asset to any science based institution, because the people counts on the planner’ creativity to tell them in their own language that which they sought

The Computer Aided Design (CAD) skill of the planning officer to commune the usefulness of science and technology, together with his literary creativity opens the door and plays a critical role in instilling in young people a curiosity and an interest in science

It is not all those who need technology in the modern Nigerian society that are literate to completely understand its usage and importance, so it becomes critical in planning proposal that important health or any scientific related concepts are described in terms that the lay public can understand because it inform the public about critical issues to aid public debate on areas of science involving ethics and policy questions,

The Duty of the Planning officer is very important in a technological establishment because in this age of new technologies and innovations, it is becoming all the time more essential to identify these technological inputs and draw on the endless promise they offer the citizens for sustainable socio-economic development.

Apart from the NUC inputs, I still believe that action is required from several fonts is not to be overemphasized, the creativity inherent to the Planning Officer is the best linkages in these fonts because his creative inputs helps with the responsiveness toward the importance of science and technology in African development, it will evolved into the broader perception of premeditated organization for the National planning if conscious effort is given

“I describe the core of the Planning Units in a university to consist of people whose main role is to create new ideas, They could either be qualified in science and technology, education, arts, or any discipline, they include people who engage in complex problem solving with a great deal of independent judgment, These are the people who share a common creative ethos, people who value creativity in their place of work”
To be continued…
Thank you

Hate or Love the "Face of Work"

I am a great believer in people, that is one of the reason I work so hard with everyone, and I think that the people I have worked with have two choices concerning me, it is either to love me or hate me,

These who love me are mostly at the top, because I made plans strategically to reduce cost, while at the same time implementing a long term development plan for the good of the university

These who hate me are mostly the junior or rivals, because I implement idea that is to be worked by them, either physically or strategically, to them I am the face of work, the best thing about working here is much more the friendly culture, it makes for such a good working environment with great openings to do extremely well and develop my career. It makes works more than just a job for me; it makes it a life in me

I am constantly developing myself within my role as well as my personal creative talents. In terms of work or personal development ethics it is important that a staff take time to assess oneself, no matter which facet of the job it is, the one the men at the top love or the one the men at the top hate, I try to look at my planning processes and procedures that deals with situations in the university, I try to see if I can improve my relationship with the staff from previous efforts,

I question myself at times, before I actually implement a new idea or proposal to the Registrar, it is important that I create friends and understanding on these who see me as “the face of work” and also build it into the process that follows the idea am proposing for the good of each unit, it is my job as the technical officer to do, knowing that I run with it and see during the post-assessment if it has given me or the university any gain.

As an African know how, it is important that I have to be attentive of the ever changing strategic environment in which I work and be aware of the need to attend any new courses or training programmes in order to keep abreast of new regulations and/or new management techniques which are necessary for me to effectively execute my role as Planning officer (technical).

The department supports the initiative and today most of the staff in planning department are being AUTOCAD trainedThe variety of work, and I especially enjoy problem-solving, so there is a great deal of job satisfaction. It is very rewarding to be able to deliver the results expected by my Department, particularly when it contributes to the continuing success of the Department

The Department of Physical Planning and Works

the metrological Officer and I, in the Officer of the Director of Works and Planning

The director of physical planning has a good focal point meetings in our department that help with the building of an efficient, approachable management structure to ensure that there is an effective system to feedback issues in maintenance and that staff work as an integrated team.

We are divided into groups, each in a strategy point of employ as needed to carry out our job and use ones initiative for the good in the university

The metrological officer, the architect, the building technician and much more, are all a part of the department of physical planning and works, we have out-of-hours work, basic computer skills, fire training, and communication, and am about to attend a course in first aid.

It has always been a good experience to work here and I feel the University looks after its employees, so working at this University made me feel part of the wider University community and, as such, a valued member of staff, some one who God has chosen to make a difference to the world.

You can write of Technology

The picture show me and some students in my team

The article below was an internal memo submitted to the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun state, now the Executive Secretary of the National University Commission

“Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are”. Hafsat Abiola

In this age of new technologies and innovations, it is becoming all the time more essential to identify and draw on the endless promise they offer for sustainable socio-economic development, this write-up seeks to justify the need for the formulation of a creatively conceived publicity as a new strategic framework of intervention in technological awareness in Africa.

Action is required from several fonts for awareness strategy and publicity is the best linkages in these fonts because it helps with the consciousness of the importance of science and technology in African development

Awareness, use and sales of new technologies and innovations can only be done effectively through creatively conceived publicity, that is what I do more, and as a member of the Association of Nigerian writers couplet with my position as an administrative officer in charge of publicity in the nation’s first private University of Technology it is surely my job, and a welcome one, because I believe that the need for science and technology in our national development is not a new philosophy and it cannot be overemphasized

The ability to communicate scientific concepts to the public is an important asset to the a creative administrator, because the people counts on his knowledge to tell them in their own language that which they sought

The ability to communicate the usefulness of science and technology opens the door and plays a critical role in instilling in young people a curiosity and an interest in science

It is critical that important health or any scientific related concepts be described in terms that the lay public can understand because it is not all these who need technology in the modern Nigerian society are literate enough to completely understand its usage and importance

If the Nigerian writer embraces the creative means of communicating technology the African public will have a better understanding of the importance of science and technology and learn to make many of the important decisions in their lives

Radio and newspapers today needs the conscious technology expert and administrators because they understand creativity in the written word and can creatively communicate the discovery with the science realm through the people in our culture.

Let us take a look at the most successful companies in the world today, Let us look at the ideas behind the sales of their product, we will see that there is always the publicity in the print media that helped them, something identifiable and beautiful with the area of interest, something creative, something in prints that ought to last in our memory and sell its vision to the public mind

How do these big Companies do it?
Well they have good writers that helped them meet daily challenges of accurately translating the often unknowable and simple news of such discoveries into lay language. In many cases, their reporting also attempts to objectively put those discoveries into historical, personal, political, economic, and social context

How can we do it?
You don’t have to be a science writer to talk about technology, of all the journalism professions technology writing may well be the most challenging and yet the most rewarding. The writers are responsible for covering fields that are experiencing some of the most rapid advances in history and their reporting not only can bring exciting news of remarkable scientific achievements, but also inform the public about critical issues to aid public debate on areas of science involving ethics and policy questions,

While many creative writers write for the lay public, many also write for professional audiences, such as scientists, physicians, and engineers. Also, while many of us may be full-time staff writers/publicist for their organizations, many others may be free-lancers, paid by the story or the book for their creatively conceived publicity.

I have put up this argument with the Writers body during the just concluded writers festival at Lagos State University and also to Professor Julius Ameobi Okojie; seeking his input through his experience in the science realm since 1969 to date

Technology study may well be the most rewarding to a writer/staff based in a Science institution because the writer interact and is at times responsible for covering fields that are experiencing some of the most rapid advances in history through his Administrative tendencies and his reporting not only can bring exciting news of remarkable scientific achievements but also confirms that no one need to be a science writer to talk about technology or write about it

Apart from promoting this idea, I have also implemented notes and shared facts with these I woke with, for instance I proposed in one of my write-up that ..

“The University clinic and its staff and other health professionals around this institution who treat patients/students or study the art of healthy living, must learn the arts of creative expression to be able to communicate complex concepts about health and its treatment in order to effectively infuse the idea to patients and subsequently for research,

I wrote that because creative expression can also prepare them when called upon frequently to speak to the media and to various groups and organizations about topics relating to health and their experience in the University
I ask the school community to learn because every journey starts from home and
With the help of the University information unit, I will help in the brainstorm, draft, edit, revise, and proofread over extended periods of time and read the possible topics they send, below is my statement in one of the write-up

“I want to help with the development of your writing ability because I believe you can write essays that are sophisticated, witty, humorous, intelligent, and mature. Please don't sell yourself short on this assignment by putting it off until “next time”.

Your essay will be published in the anthology; nuance of the bells and it will become a hit, linkages and other schools, and prospective students will read it. If you write a great essay, rest assured, you are going to have readers and fans that will mail you.

The anthology neither expects you nor wants you to bend the truth but seek your own idea. We do ask you to wrestle, if needed, with how to tell a difficult story in a way that is publicly palatable so that no one is needlessly embarrassed.

The process for the assignment is this: You will write the best essay you can. You should solicit comments from friends and family. This may be a good time to support your fellow in the group I have set up “nuance4dbells@yahoogroups.com.

If you are stuck or want help with your writing along the way, and if you want personal comment email me to request a meeting and I’ll try to accommodate you.

University: Creativity featured in the Public Mind

“The voice of the BELLS will be heard when he enters the Holy Place before the Lord and when he comes out, so that he will not die. (Exodus 28:3, 4, 31 35)”

What do you think of that introductory presentation, a religious article? No, the context of the story is highlighted in the section of the passage ˜BELLS”, the story I intend to sell is centred on the ˜BELLS” identity, now you can conjure how well the article will be pitched to the media to either feature or review

As the publicist my job is to find a justifiable news peg and get the most out of it. To work harder on angles that is identifiable with or I think more important to the organizations who are sincere and with whom I have developed a professional relationship

This viewpoint has a lot to do with examining the role, importance, function of the creative writer as a publicist in an organization, and of the relative status of the job through the mind of a Nigerian author

Publicist as an occupation has worked wonders for its patrons that were featured on the news media. The marketing of their sales is increased by the exposure they were given by the work of the writer

Every organization needs a promotion and publicity strategy to reach out and create a market for its vision, to make this possible a full-time publicity person would be needed to execute this task. Such a person therefore needed to have a story angle and a design sense.

The media attention the clienteles get in selling its assets to the public is increased when the publicity person does his job i.e. helps to promote the business needs by tapping into the markets,

It is a pleasure to the employer or the person in charge of publicity when his work is published in the print media; because the writer in him finds an outlet were he can use his creative skill to nurture an identity,

Though the job involve the assembly of publicity material of the writers choice, but what gets featured in the final release depends on the medium or the reputation of the writer, therefore the relationship between the publicists and the editor is vital as it works better when both appreciate the others work

Now let us talk of that relationship and how to nurture it;

Is publicity not free media space? Yes it is! But it is also marketing, it involve the sales of a story to the public and it requires financial incentives to cover it all, the best newspapers today are those that get more advertising request, the only space left for free publicity are in feature,
So we expect the job to become more challenging because a publicity person needs to get his works out in these limited space. And he needed to be upbeat, good in public relations and with excellent media contacts.

How well an article is written and the merit of the story is not important in the modern Nigerian setup if he has not developed a professional relationship with the feature editors, and the who is who in the publishing house

Here the creativity of the writer needs to be at its best, to get the attention he personally sought for the feature in contention, he need to know the type of article to present in each section of the newspaper,

A writer have different ways of presenting materials to their readers,; as a review, a text of a journal, a poem, fiction, but yet they are like advertising, though they are two completely different ways to communicate and require different approaches. They tell and sell

Because people are well apt to skip over ad, the advantage herein lies on the publicist to take advantages of the featured section to sell his story, the conviction and enthusiasm of the article will have to come through for media to sit up and take interest and the creativity will therefore attract the attention of the consumers

Here is an example of another story angle
“In African BELLS have been used since the earliest times by our ancestors for signalling purposes, BELLS rings for emergencies and they wake us up in the morning. BELLS call us to school or ritual space, to church, to a meal or meeting, they announce the passage of time . . . and tell remind us of our duty”

This sound and look more like a history lesson, it is, but the angle in the story is cantered on the BELLS identification, Such a beautiful feature promoting a clientele would please a writer immensely, it pleases the editor for being in charge of the feature, it pleases the organization to whom the topicality of the article was published, because to all three; it is a realization that the hard work behind the scenes has yielded results by getting your market in the spotlight.

Every publicist needs a "news hook” something identifiable with the market structure, something new and different, a personality story, look into the history, the heritage, the community, look into you, pretend you are a terrorist spy walking into market taking in point of attack , looking for a hidden treasure.

Read the tense below and tell me what you think

“Make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth, with an opening for the head in its centre. There shall be a woven edge like a collar around this opening, so that it will not tear. Make pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn around the hem of the robe, with GOLD BELLS in between them. The GOLD BELLS and the pomegranates are to alternate around the hem of the robe. Aaron must wear it when he ministers. (Exodus 28:3, 4, 31-35)”
This is a good promotional idea for my clientele, the Bells University and it is liable to increase the essence of publicity, it can be featured in the religious section or education, as a commentary or a viewpoint, and it can appear in any part of the newspapers, and interestingly the logo of Bells university of Technology, Ota, have three GOLD BELLS

As we read we see that BELLS are religious artefacts with considerable significance in the multicultural tradition and practices, and as much meaning to the local people as the Liberty Bell does to the American people

How do I do it, get quotes from passages and use it to my advantage? Remember I am first of all a poet, and can recognize the reliability of available news release, a highlight in a book, or editorial in a newsletter, I take advantage of them and then check it with my angle

in-work creative writings of Omosun Sylvester

Today most of my in-work creative writing including writing bid proposals to committees and departments, assessing the existing school projects, while personal writing includes giving papers and writing related articles and books to students. In addition, there are also grant proposals for schemes needed for a plan lead system in each area and articles and books proposals to be reviewed for various funding bodies in the university and publishers.

In 2005 and early 2006, I was formally an administrative officer in charge of publicity and Information, my Duty then was more literarily creative imposed, the administration does covers everything from organizing students and staff in events, it was much more like sitting on Department and University committees and panels with pen and paper as your power point

Below is an article I wrote while still in the Administrative department

The Joy of my Job
I love to write news articles, mostly on new discoveries within the Campus, as well as feature articles that offer a broader perspective on the motto of the university community, often including the personalities and process behind the university growth.
In gathering information for articles, I often read the journal from National University commissions around the world and professional scholarly magazines, news releases, government records, electronic mail, chat group postings, and faxes from news sources that talk about academia. Also I get information from attending the university meetings, news conferences and breaking news events in and around the university community
The information I compiled help me to maintain contact with helpful media houses and create a professional relationship with the press and public organizations
Being a part of the university information unit and sport committee give me the chance accompany the university proposed expeditions thereby I had the privilege of writing in-depth accounts of the experience and learning of possible advances in area of public interest.
The most important activity in developing a news story, however, is interviewing personality who were invited to the university or has relevant connection to the university vision
By far the most important qualities needed by a prospective Publicity Officer are a fascination with the university system as a whole and a talent for writing clearly, accurately and with an interesting flair.
I have these qualities and they have been at an advantage to me, I believe that the publicity Officer must also possess a drive to continue learning throughout their professional lives, because unlike the case in many administrative specialties, each new publicity angles published by an officer can present new concepts and a new vocabulary to master.
Like a journalists in this new age of technological advancement the Publicity Officer will increasingly have to learn to work in multimedia, using text, graphics, video and audio to communicate their stories. That is why I have the joy of my job, having the university academic atmosphere and information technology resources to help out
Successful Publicity Officers have come from the ranks of both literary/art community and of journalism/public relation with each gaining the complementary knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career as an author/writer. Which I have become
Publicity officer working in a science based university must learn the reporting and writing skills necessary to pursue a story, more important is the need to learn and understand both art and scientific concepts and terms.
I originated from the ranks of professional literary association, and have tried my best to complement the creativity with my new job, communicating to the public about my university through lay-level articles, columns and lay-level academic books. While doing that I can hold down other staff jobs, getting involved in all the administrative duties and establishing a reputation working both ways.
For me as the university publicity Officer my University degree is a must, I think that it is important that aspiring Officer should consider taking courses that complement their administrative tendencies with journalism or have their master in area of Public relation and marketing, whether it is in science or journalism. Many universities offer specialized courses in creative writings and the library is full of it.
When I got the job as Administrative officer/ publicity, I started with original literary works; collection composed mostly of the works and research materials of Bells University community. I collected reviews of correspondence, leaflets, speeches/lectures, poems, short stories, essays, contracts, working notes, and articles concerning the life of each individual in relation to the university as a whole. I try to seek angles to communicate not only among the university members, but also with the public. That lead to the publication of my first article in the press- National Interest Newspaper, titled “ Publicity/Feature in the Pubic mind”

On the article I talk about my job- comprises promoting the university idea into the mind of it employee and it community, inspire truth in the motto by the output , and its aspiration toward the common goodwhat try to explain was that a science university may market their vision to a population that frequently does not understand technical language. The Officer must therefore not only understand the vision and target of their university but must be able to translate this knowledge to their customers, but also describe products and activities to the public.
Being the first to report of new developments in science and medicine to the general public can be one of the most exciting and fascinating "beats" on any newspaper, radio or television station. So the relationship of the media and that of the University Publicity officer /information is a must

That is why I spend most of my time creating the relationship that work both ways (for the press and the university). I seldom write the same story twice for two different media. Just as each university development is a discovery of something the public had not known before, each angles is about something neither the reporter nor his/her reader knew before.
Such officers who I try to emulate have followed this pattern of action for a long while now, and some of the most momentous events in human history were reporters the first to tell the public (through the press they created a relationship) of the splitting of the uranium atom and of the consequent explosion of the first atomic bomb.
Today I am monitoring what's is happening in the research laboratories in my university and my attention is an encouragement to the researchers and I hope we will come across the “ Something” for developments that might be of interest to the Nation
I hope to do this by enjoying the joy of my job, with the information unit in my university ,attending scientific and medical meetings where researchers hear about advances by their peers, by perusing scientific and medical journals and adding my little contribution, by reading press releases from universities and corporations, by "surfing" the science-related web sites on the Internet, and by interviewing scientists.
And through these association I will seek direct insight to the needs, opportunity, and challenges of our community, and develop macro themes that will befits both the National University system and the world that have invited our country into the commonwealth of nations
Thanks

Working with staff and students

I enjoy teaching sporting and poetry ideas to the students through internet and books, the nomination of my name into the sport committee offered me the opportunity to use my literary knowledge and expertise to get in touch with them, while gaining experience of the wider administration

The variety of this role is amazing, and it is what keeps my job really interesting because I enjoy working with the staff and students, a very interesting set of people across the Nation

The satisfaction of being able to help out with the interaction of the other sports coaches in the university is interesting. When possible I give technical counseling as the need arises; I also need to ensure students/staff realize they are part of the wider university society and that they follow the rules

The planning officer, as the school supplementary basketball coach I am responsible for the welfare of 15-20 students in the main team. I act as a liaison between the university officers, the sport committee and students in my team, basically I can grade my self as a sign post to give the students the information and support they need from the University

Technical Officer and the Committee

the picture aboove shows the technical planning officer withe the administrative officer
Apart from my departmental meeting I also attend different Committee meeting every fortnight, and so around three days a week I will be working on an activity that is linked to the scheduled meeting.

In my departments I will probably spend a day or a week working on personnel issues such as reporting and collection of complain forms and the remainder of my time is spent working on other projects, usually in liaison with other staff from the University.

For example, as the convener of the sub-committee of the sports committee put in place to assess the upgrading of the existing sporting facilities in the university I am currently working on the revision of a cost estimate of the existing sports facilities inherited from the bells foundation (its previous owner),

It is not easy to say precisely what I do as a staff, because technical planning officer work is very much a mixture of activities, apart from my main role that involves supporting the various committee put is place to address the university needs. I have overall responsibility with the help of the department of physical planning and works; in the technical planning process, supporting the initiatives for the department of Physical Panning as well as the responsibility for the planning and implementation of some of the management policies of the University facilities

All this compare for an extremely different jobs in a single employee since taking up employment at this University, I occasionally attend conferences outside of the University and it has been part of the three main aspects to my work that supplemented the technical planning, apart from Recreation, and Publicity/information outreach,

The technical planning duties take up a large amount of time during school season becuase we in the physical planning and works have weekend stand by duties, it give no space or my other pasions such as the creative arts, Basketball coaching and manuscript compilation these happens only when I can afford it,
